Zed Head Posted December 21, 2020 Author Share #229 Posted December 21, 2020 Race car 240Z. Are welded diffs a good thing for a track car? Is the middle of a pandemic a good time to sell a race car? grannyknot Posted December 21, 2020 Share #230 Posted December 21, 2020 That looks like so much fun, it must sound amazing. Who needs a rad fan, it's either going full speed or it is turn off. He sure won't get what he put into it. He'll want to buy this now... 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/64671-zs-on-bat-and-other-places-collection/?page=20#findComment-613007 Share on other sites
texasz Posted December 22, 2020 Share #232 Posted December 22, 2020 @Zed Head, as I recall a welded diff is good for straight line racing...anything with turns and it is not so good. A welded diff is a poor man's LSD. Driving on the street with a welded diff is hard on the diff and rear tires and eventually the diff will fail, driving on the track is okay because the there is enough speed to compensate for the inside wheel going the same speed as the outside wheel so the slippage isn't noticed. Or so I've been told. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/64671-zs-on-bat-and-other-places-collection/?page=20#findComment-613023 Share on other sites

Zed Head Posted December 24, 2020 Author Share #236 Posted December 24, 2020 Could somebody photoshop (is that still a thing?) some silverish wheels on this car? Just seems like it needs it. Zed Head Posted December 25, 2020 Author Share #238 Posted December 25, 2020 Another 71, original vintage. Probably has a high reserve, check out the cost of recent service. If I were buying, that's the kind of car I would be looking for. Unrestored, but unmolested. Used, but not abused. I didn't read any of the chatter on BAT, but the pics looked like they weren't trying to hide anything. No pretense, just an honest, well loved used Z with all the warts you would see on a normal Z car. I'd rather fix them myself than pay for someone else's work already done. Although, if the price for that kind of car is now up to 27.5K, I'm not sure I have the $$ to be in the market. 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/64671-zs-on-bat-and-other-places-collection/?page=20#findComment-613274 Share on other sites
