Might be something to do with clearance when the dealer installed ac was added. Nevertheless, a dumb place to put it and ruin the data plate. I have seen that exact same thing done before. Thanks, was just curious. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/64671-zs-on-bat-and-other-places-collection/?page=66#findComment-621132 Share on other sites
Zed Head Posted May 6, 2021 Author Share #782 Posted May 6, 2021 Red calipers and low profile tires. Do they really work on any car? I wonder what the new owner will do when he gets this. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1960-chevrolet-corvette-32/ 3 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/64671-zs-on-bat-and-other-places-collection/?page=66#findComment-621170 Share on other sites

Zed Head Posted May 9, 2021 Author Share #784 Posted May 9, 2021 The red tow-hook 73 was actually a well-done resto mild mod. $80,000. My gob feels smacked. It has those odd-looking valves that we couldn't identify in someone else's head work pictures. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-datsun-240z-158/ 2 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/64671-zs-on-bat-and-other-places-collection/?page=66#findComment-621286 Share on other sites

The car is completely rust and accident free all sheet metal is original to the car . Car has had a full repaint with the windows out and now looks and runs great . Pictures are to show the condition of the floors the carpets and seats are installed and the car is useable but it does need some minor finishing which we can do or discount and let the buyer finish . sensibly priced at $28, 888 we are California dealer so must charge tax and license fees if sold in Ca .... Zed Head Posted May 14, 2021 Author Share #790 Posted May 14, 2021 (edited) Those are used on the 81-83 280ZX F54 block and 5 speed transmission. Earlier doesn't have the holes. Apparently it's an NVH reducing device. Somebody must have identified some flex between the transmission and engine block. They do look cool. Actually they don't look like they would be too hard to make, maybe not in cast aluminum but out of steel would be straight forward. 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/64671-zs-on-bat-and-other-places-collection/?page=66#findComment-621604 Share on other sites
