If I remember right I took a small screwdriver and tapped that key keeper loose and mine came off fairly easy. Don't hit the pulley with a steel hammer from behind. You could use rubber but be gentle. Those things break on the thinner sides where the belt rides. Good luck.

Do the remaining pulley come off with the timing cover? or are they just compressed on and will come off now with some elbow grease. thanks guys

I think that the "remaining pulleys" are actually the damper itself.  It's a slight interference fit on the crankshaft, with a key.  You might need a damper puller to remove it.  Don't pull on the outer metal pulleys, they're attached to the hub via rubber.  The damping material.  A damper puller threads in to the hub and pulls from there.

got it. after research looks like it does need a damper pulley, not a big deal. however, even with that what i read it its likely to break. If anyone has a 70-72 harmonic balancer to sell or knows a place thats sells them reasonable please message me. thanks

There are a number of options. There is a guy in Oregon who rebuilds damper pulleys, send it to him, he rebuilds it and sends it back.

Ollie Naugle in Snohomish, Washington had a ton of S30 parts and sells dampers.

Rebello in California has a line of aftermarket pulleys, all new with no core required,
