Speakers for 76 280z

Featured Replies

Hey guys.

so I bought my z a couple years ago and it didn’t have anything audio related installed. Every time I drive the z I just bring a Bluetooth speaker in te car with me lol but I’ve had some extra time on my hands and I’m installing the retro sound stereo. Everything is going pretty well, only thing is that I don’t like some of the popular speaker locations (the kick panels or the big box in the trunk). I want to see if I can use the OEM speaker locations. Ok so this is where I’m stuck. I’m aware that these Z’s only came with one speaker back then. On the drivers side rear behind that plastic panel, I see I have a speaker mount bracket there. Dude is there any way I can have the a similar bracket on the other side? Same exact spot just on the passenger side? The other side has the holes like you can do it. But I’ve looked online everywhere nobody sells a bracket. I just want the speakers hidden back there.

any help is well appreciated thanks

This is actually exactly what I needed thank you. I just have to acquire a second bracket now. I don’t see anyone selling it. The stock one is a 5 1/4 speaker right?

IIRC yes but can't swear on it. You will prob have to add a new speaker wire, unless yours came with it already in the wire harness. Its not hard, you fish it along the main body harness, I used some guide tube to get it where I wanted. there is a later video that covers that.

I would think you could fabricate a bracket pretty easily if you have one to copy
