Victor Laury Posted September 8, 2003 Share #121 Posted September 8, 2003 This has been an on-going problem with the MSA covers on my car. The tape lifts. I have bought more 3M Extra strength double sided tape and "Built up" a base under the brackets to bring them a little higher and reduce the stain on them.Does it work? Well the tape still lifts, It just takes longer. It would seem that the only true answer is to drill and pop rivet the brackets in place. But I'm so hesitant to do that, I'll monkey the tape some more. 26th-Z Posted September 8, 2003 Share #122 Posted September 8, 2003 Can't bear the thought of drilling a hole in your car? You can patch a hole. Buy an extra set of headlight buckets. I don't know who MSA is kidding...tape.Who wants to make me a great deal and sell me a set of Nissan chrome ringed headlight covers? v12horse Posted September 20, 2003 Share #123 Posted September 20, 2003 I must say that this has been an interesting thread to read. It makes this forum have that much more of a family/friends feeling. I love it. Okay, I think the look of the clear headlight covers are awesome on Z's. The covers that I am interested are the ones with the chrome ring. Z-point, you mentioned that they look good on dark colored cars. Does anyone think they would look out of place on my car since it is a light colored car? Thanks a lot.Regards,Ben:classic: http://www.classicZcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6303&password=&sort=7&thecat=500 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/6826-opinions-on-those-clear-headlight-covers-for-an-z/?page=11#findComment-50328 Share on other sites
Z-point Posted September 20, 2003 Share #124 Posted September 20, 2003 Hi Ben,What is light and what is dark? Personally, your blue Z is ‘dark’. White, yellow and silver are light colours and at those cars chrome will not show up as on the darker ones. Like blue, red, green, black and so on. v12horse Posted September 21, 2003 Share #125 Posted September 21, 2003 Z-point, with those words said you have inspired me to find some headlight covers. 2manyZs, I think that is a great idea about spotwelding the nuts for easy removal. I was looking at my buckets and they are steel for sure. PrOxLaMuS, post those pictures of your car with the light covers. We want to see. Take care everyone.-Ben Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/6826-opinions-on-those-clear-headlight-covers-for-an-z/?page=11#findComment-50435 Share on other sites
