Also did you use a primer as well? The trans paint is a Duplicolor cast aluminum, no primer, just scrubbed the aluminum down with industrial cleaner and a SS brush. Two coats. The T/C nuts, just as the other guys say, the sleeve is the stop and double nut is a good idea. That is when you are using stock rubber bushings, with poly I couldn't tell you. How do I loose something that big? Fortunately a friend has a spare he's willing to sell me, my fault my dime. Don't you need the weatherstrip kit before you do the windshield and hatch? That's the part that's currently holding up the MSA order. It's apparently going to arrive "any day", just like it was at Datsun Garage (I'm not comparing the two suppliers - the experience working with the two is night and day). I think the problem must be with the supplier of the kit, as they're the ones giving out unrealistic delivery dates to their dealers. Have I mentioned how great it all looks? The guy that does my plating has done a lot of my stuff and he has figured that the less time in the hot acid the better the plastic comes out. So I take him hardware that is near perfect so it only has to stay in the solution for a short time. The first batch we did the plastic looked like white chalk.
