Yarb Posted October 22, 2023 Author Share #13 Posted October 22, 2023 That’s exactly what I have. What I don’t know is this a clutch type gear box or a gear driven box. I guess I need to really do a lot more research. Thanks @Zed Headfor your research freind. Zed Head Posted October 22, 2023 Share #14 Posted October 22, 2023 (edited) It's a clutch. Kind of a bummer but I'm not sure that you can get the parts anymore. I browsed around but didn't find anything. 240hoke might know if he's still around. Don't know if he was ever a member here. He was active on HybridZ. https://forums.hybridz.org/topic/52029-adding-clutches-to-the-clsd-r200/ https://hokeperformance.squarespace.com/vq240z-build https://www.facebook.com/hokeperformance/ Here's a Google search page that has some good stuff. Of course, a call to the local Nissan dealer might be worthwhile too. https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahybridz.org+clutch+lsd+r200 Edited October 22, 2023 by Zed Head Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/68624-identifying-datsun-r200-long-nose-lsd-differential/?page=2#findComment-658407 Share on other sites
Yarb Posted October 22, 2023 Author Share #15 Posted October 22, 2023 Not sure what to do at this point not knowing the history of the diff. My thoughts were they were rare and to run with it. What I don’t know is how is it performing when there’s nothing to compare it to. Maybe the best bet is to have it rebuilt with the extra cluthes. Do you have a source for the clutches? If you do then rebuilding is an option. I didn't go that route. I installed the CLSD I have. I will run it and see how it performs first. Then rebuild it if necessary.
