inline6 Posted December 23, 2023 Author Share #13 Posted December 23, 2023 I saw this on a recent 240Z auction on BAT. So much for my claim of the oldest Toyo for a Z! 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/68731-1270-original-spare-tire-dot-149/?page=2#findComment-660437 Share on other sites

duffymahoney Posted December 27, 2023 Share #15 Posted December 27, 2023 Here is mine, 1/71 240z. Brigdestone Super Speed. I was told this was a spare from a 1969? I have been offered 2k for it. I have zero clue on what it actually is. Patcon Posted December 27, 2023 Share #16 Posted December 27, 2023 For 2k it would have a new home!! 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/68731-1270-original-spare-tire-dot-149/?page=2#findComment-660542 Share on other sites
duffymahoney Posted December 28, 2023 Share #17 Posted December 28, 2023 I probably should have sold it. I actually had a lot of interest in it, maybe the white wall aspect? 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/68731-1270-original-spare-tire-dot-149/?page=2#findComment-660547 Share on other sites
bluez Posted December 31, 2023 Share #18 Posted December 31, 2023 (edited) After seeing this post, I just checked my (12/70) Z’s spare also a Toyo Z-1. Didn’t realize I had a 53 year old tire. inline6 Posted December 31, 2023 Author Share #19 Posted December 31, 2023 Also, DOT 149. Odd. Also, someone looking for original tires could contact the two of us, the two BAT folks, and could purchase a matching set! inline6 Posted December 31, 2023 Author Share #21 Posted December 31, 2023 11/70 currently on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/386199400448?hash=item59eb473000:g:lcwAAOSw5cxlKtGb&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwEBg9%2FdWu7nKPA0i7J29WlF0OtBSA4EH8Z6sbTca%2FT82FbIRphOkU4bLlbUJzdqWlkYrlG6hEHztMXzoCv63VQl9MPMRHAD1Tq5ykejshUMZ%2FrlRXJhO3k2iJ4IRftLC47feTmRcPRuOxNM0sXrXmjNV1yrYZ%2FylOK6aSwouV1rjpDUtLOWFtjIxVsucB72YZ0FFNvF5zOrDYDKjsiD4cV7ixNAZ3rynAgntzLRK2Ha7ixShbLDRwwuIQ7%2FJA0Lgmw%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR9jSjoiYYw Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/68731-1270-original-spare-tire-dot-149/?page=2#findComment-660606 Share on other sites
AZ-240z Posted December 31, 2023 Share #22 Posted December 31, 2023 As a point of interest, thought I would add a picture of my NOS 11 - 70 spare tire. Since my 1/71 series 1 car was delivered new at the dealership with dish mags, I was fortunate to find a set of 11 - 70 wheels with their D hubcaps, and then this 11 - 70 spare. I think these wheels dated 11/70 are dated close enough that they could have been original equipment on my 1/71 car. I was told Toyota was just using random parts they had laying around to fulfil orders, which is most likely why I have the whitewall version.
