andywalter007 Posted October 17, 2024 Share #1 Posted October 17, 2024 Are there solutions for replacing the metal exhaust mounting bracket attached to the diff cross member (C in the diagram)? I'd love to find an original part, but that has been challenging. SpeedRoo Posted October 17, 2024 Share #2 Posted October 17, 2024 Sadly the vulcanized rubber damper separates over time. I have a few old ones I resurrected by bolting in a rubber damper like the one below. It replaces the square rubber one between the metal plates. andywalter007 Posted October 18, 2024 Author Share #3 Posted October 18, 2024 Your picture helps 100%. I am missing the piece that bolts into the diff cross member. If I can't find one to purchase, I could fabricate a decent one using an angle iron. SpeedRoo Posted October 18, 2024 Share #4 Posted October 18, 2024 Happy to help, should be easy to make fabricate one up. Let me know if you need dimensions, I can measure up one of mine. 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/69134-240z-diff-crossmember-exhaust-mount/#findComment-670418 Share on other sites
inline6 Posted October 19, 2024 Share #5 Posted October 19, 2024 I'd like to have the dimensions. I had a NOS one until I sold it a few years ago. Now, I need to fab one. What part number did you use for the round rubber replacements? McMaster Carr? SpeedRoo Posted October 19, 2024 Share #6 Posted October 19, 2024 (edited) 11.3cm L x 3.1cm H x 3.4cm W 3mm thick metal. Use these anti vibration mounts which can be cut down to a square shape. https://www.amazon.com/EASYEAH-Mechanical-Silent-Blocks-Compressors-M10x28-40x30mm/dp/B0D5JKBT44 I use a m10 thread PEM stud cut down to fix the damper to the bracket. https://www.pemnet.com/products/product-finder/hfh-m10-15zc/ Edited October 19, 2024 by SpeedRoo 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/69134-240z-diff-crossmember-exhaust-mount/#findComment-670439 Share on other sites
