Hi all,

If you are a subscribing member via Paypal, you might have received a message that your automatic Paypal subscription has been canceled.  This was something that I did and NOT a glitch or a hack.  We use Paypal and Stripe to process payments and your information is secure with those providers.  If you are the lucky few, our system simply canceled the automatic processing.

In order to get back in and re-do your automatic Paypal subscription, please visit our subscriptions page.  You can renew your membership at the bottom of each block.  Any subscriptions that are pre-paid will remain active until your renewal date.  At that time you'll get a message asking you to renew manually.  You will also have an option to enable automatic payments at that time.

I appreciate everyone who has been contributing to the site and apologize for this inconvenience.

Mike

@Mike

So I can't figure out how to sort this.

PayPal shows this autopay under an inactive tab. I can't figure out how to make it active.

The subscription page says at the top

"Since you have an active PayPal Subscription to pay the subscription renewal fee, this must be cancelled before changing your Subscription package. "

I click to cancel but then can't figure out where to go next?? It just seems to show payment history

Hi Patcon,

Ok I figured this out.  It looks like there are two parts to a subscription.

  1. Your membership on our site
  2. Your payment method at Paypal

The membership (subscription) on our website will try to make an attempt on your renewal date.  Since the Paypal auto-renewal was canceled, it will fail.  You can probably wait until that happens and click the renew button at that time.  Here's a screenshot of how it looks below.  I also added a few options for annual subscriptions this time.  If you want to switch your subscription, just use the switch button.

When you click the renew button it will ask you to renew for X months (dropdown)... Just pick 1 month.  Then it will open the invoice tool and send you to Paypal to complete the transaction.

Hi Mike,

My subscription was due to expire in March 2025. I understand the automatic paypal proces was canceled, bu if I renew now, will the subscription be deleted or will the renewal continue onward from March 25?

Should I use the Subscriptions or Paypal subscriptions? I'm just wondering if the Subscriptions tab will start a new subscription proces from now onward.

Thanks ChasScreenshot_20241028-204317.jpgScreenshot_20241028-204354.jpg

FWIW, I have looked at the subscriptions related screens, and I can't do anything.  I can't cancel anything, and I can't renew anything.  No links are available for either.  It does look like my PayPal part has been canceled.  My current subscription ends in Nov.  So, I guess I will wait and see if I can renew then.

Hi Chas,

Ah yes you bring up a good point.  If your membership is not expired yet, the system will not allow you to renew and set up the Paypal payment until it's expired.  So, you are good to go until the expiration date.  If you want to start over, you'd likely have to cancel the subscription (here on our website) and then set up a new one to start from today.  If you do cancel, it will not pro-rate your old membership, it will set up a new one.

Yes, please let me know if this changes in November when yours expires.

@Mike I just joined lyesterday with the annual MadMax option, now getting Google pop-up ads like crazy. Thanks.

Uh oh, let me check some of the settings.  You shouldn't be getting those ads.  I won't break anything this time, promise.  lol

Update:  I found some settings that were not set up correctly.  Can you check again now that you've been added to the "Subscriber" group?  Thanks!

Mike
