Hi all,

Just wanted to let you all know that I've changed the home page of our community.  Our home 'landing' page was pretty slow and it wasn't really giving us the best focus.  Although I really like having a home landing page, I'm going to try this configuration to see if it improves some things on the back end (page load speed, SEO, etc).  

Basically now everyone will see the main forum page when you type in www.classiczcars.com.  We may eventually go back to a summarized home page again in the future but for now I'd like to see how this works out.  Let me know if you have any opinions on the matter.

PS:  Clicking the 'home' menu item will always open the home page.  Only difference is now anyone who visits our website will be pushed directly into the forum.  Hope this makes sense.  Might just be my inner nerd sharing too much info.  lol

Hi Mike,

At first start up i now get the forums listing of all the different topics, then i go to "home" i get the "old" page of the new updates with the pictures.

I prefer to directly go to the updates but not a problem to just click home and get where i want..

Thanks for this beautiful site, i'm in disability 100% so i'm in the free ride, thank you that it's still possible!  (I practice my english here!! thanks!)

Thanks for the feedback, dutchzcarguy.  Yeah, I like the landing page as well, but it had a pretty long delay in loading (sometimes 4-6 seconds).  This was causing some problems for our rankings.  Now the page shows a much faster ranking.  I think the code I used to query the forums and attachments was slowing it down.  I'll make some improvements in the near future but for now the forum will stay as the default page until that's done.

FYI, we will have some website improvements coming soon so I'm hoping that will fix our landing page load times.
