Jacques Posted 20 hours ago Share #1 Posted 20 hours ago Hello all, I have a 1973 240z that I have been bringing back to life. The fuse block had the parking light melted through the plastic cover and base, plus some other suspect repairs, which resulted in most of the lights not working. After getting a big wiring diagram and some late nights, I have managed to get all the lights working but not the parking lights. The grounds are good, but I'm just not getting power to the parking lights when the switch is in position 1 or 2. My color diagram shows a Green/white wire that turns into a green wire for the front and the same green/white for the rear. It also shows a green wire from the fuse panel to the other side of the light switch. If my headlights work on the same switch, why would I not be getting power to the parking lights? Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the combination switch? Thanks for the help! jfa.series1 Posted 18 hours ago Share #3 Posted 18 hours ago This little diagram may give you some help. There are two rockers inside the light switch that engage as you twist the knob - one for the parking/sidemarkers/tail lights/license, and the other for the headlights. 2 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/69263-parking-lights-wiring-not-working/#findComment-675039 Share on other sites
Jacques Posted 18 hours ago Author Share #4 Posted 18 hours ago Thank you, that's a great picture with the numbers and wire colors. So number 2 is a Green/Blue coming from the park circuit fuse panel I assume? I'm not sure what the color is for the matching wire on the other half of the connector. That suggests a problem internal to the switch. 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/69263-parking-lights-wiring-not-working/#findComment-675045 Share on other sites

SteveJ Posted 16 hours ago Share #12 Posted 16 hours ago What do the 9-pin male and female connectors look like where the combo switch plugs into the dash harness? That is another point of meltdown. 1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/69263-parking-lights-wiring-not-working/#findComment-675049 Share on other sites
