And to dive even further off track, does this look like a decent buy?

Grimer Diagnostic Tune up Analyzer, ES Pro dual beam inductive timing light, both with inst. books, PCond will not sep $51 lot

As for the tunning I was so successful.

I now run fuel injection it is the best. The trick to the Hitachi is to get the balance right keep the oil good, make sure the both valves weights fall at similar rates, also check that the chokes lock off when you push the lever down. (take a breath). Did I say I lifted my Hitachi's and manifold of in 1991 and injected my L28 from then.

Hitachi's can be great if you can get them right. The set you are getting are the best.

How soon for details and pics of the new one.

Cheers

Steve

It is cuong's old 260Z.

I bought it for a daily driver as I got offered a good price on my trusty mitsubishi and sold it. Basically I want to tune it up and get it past roadworthy and take it from there. EFI is definately the way to go, I have an EFI motor for my other car but Im not trying to spend too much on this car just yet til i work out what I am doing.

Its being delivered to my house for a small fee.

Was too much hastle trying to organise picking it up from the depot on the other side of the city during business hours while i am working :)

Will let you know how I go for sure :classic:

James the SU's are a bit of a pain and I would definately recommend the tuning tools.

Your in melbourne so if you like I can come over and lend you a hand at it.

I'm no guru at them but I can get them running right. i bought a Unisyn ages ago have to pick it up.

Have been thinking about the colour tune kit also after I fouled up a couple of plugs.

There not too difficult to rebuild but getting it running properly and leak air tight is the trick.

I was thinking of doing mine but haven't been driving the Z lately had no money with change of jobs etc...

Victoria British www.victoriabritish.com

sell the tune up gear as well as www.ztherapy.com

The SU's are a pain but for performance I think the SU's are great.

For a daily driver though must admit fuel injection wins hands down.:ermm:
