dga Posted October 14, 2003 Share #1 Posted October 14, 2003 Has anyone had success with an engine flush to free up oil rings that are failing to control oil blowby above 4250 rpm? Otherwise compression and power are great on a 77 280z with 38,000 mi and a fresh head. Oil useage is about 1qt/1,250 mi using Syntec 5W-50.What brand? Did it affect engine seals?Thx Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/8377-engine-flush/ Share on other sites
z_boi Posted October 15, 2003 Share #2 Posted October 15, 2003 is ur motor preped for synthetic oil? My 78 280 probably has 160,000miles and has never been rebuilt. It uses no oil. Do you have any oil leaks? If you use synthetic wit the original seals, it will develope leaks. Then you would have to have the motor completely resealed.
