NickF Posted October 25, 2003 Share #1 Posted October 25, 2003 Took the front wing off and cleaned up noticed some ugly tack welds where should be spot welds? Do you think the inner wing has been replaced? The rest of the welds seem ok. Is the standard under body treatment painted underseal? abas Posted October 25, 2003 Share #3 Posted October 25, 2003 Nick Looks pretty standard to me. Virtually the same welds on my unrestored car. That's a pretty good original inner arch if you ask me, if the paint is mostly still there under the dirt. Over here in Pomland we got a black underseal coating in the wheel arches and on the floorpans ( fat lot of good it did though .) My ex US CA car has no undercoating at all just paint and 30+ years of dirt all the best Andrew Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/8549-accident-damage/#findComment-54582 Share on other sites

2ManyZs Posted October 25, 2003 Share #5 Posted October 25, 2003 Mine has the same thing, it's factory. The only place on a Z that didn't get a spot weld is what you pictured. The ones over the T/C mount look better than the ones that were one mine that's for sure. I've seen some that hung down an inch. NickF Posted October 26, 2003 Author Share #6 Posted October 26, 2003 Thanks, thats something less to worry about. What about the under seal? How do you replicate that finish? I've used body schultz and that gave a "pointed " finish! spray on underseal, have tried that but didn't work too well.Any thought on product and means off application.Nick Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/8549-accident-damage/#findComment-54660 Share on other sites
