Murph Posted November 6, 2003 Share #13 Posted November 6, 2003 toecutter: that's pretty close to how mine sits, although mine looks a bit lower. I'd say that's cos it's running 225/65-14's, which fill out the arches a bit more. datfreak Posted November 6, 2003 Author Share #14 Posted November 6, 2003 try measuring from the middle of the wheel(middle of the hub) to the edge of the guard(measuring straight up)..this way it doesnt matter wot size of tyre you have and show how much lower the car is.I'll go and measure mine(standard springs) when i put my guards back on. datfreak Posted November 6, 2003 Author Share #15 Posted November 6, 2003 actually.. front and rear measurements would be great. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/8716-kings-springs-anyone-used-them/?page=2#findComment-56051 Share on other sites
Murph Posted November 6, 2003 Share #16 Posted November 6, 2003 Front: 335mm Rear: 350mm There isn't a 15mm difference in tire to guard gap front to rear though because I have 215's front and 225's rear. It's roughly 1 inch from tire to guard front and rear....maybea tad larger gap rear. Interestingly, a mate has exactly the same springs on his zed, but he has 60 profile tires, where I have 65's and his has a noticably larger gap as a result. Still looks good though. datfreak Posted November 6, 2003 Author Share #17 Posted November 6, 2003 Ok..on my two zeds, both of which are 260z 2+2's and both have their front guards off :cross-eye :cross-eye So the REAR measurements are 420mm on no1 and 410mm for no2..At 350mm it would look SO awesome!!BUT maybe the guards sit higher on the 2+2??? Murph Posted November 6, 2003 Share #18 Posted November 6, 2003 420mm is pretty tall! You'd have to double check but I'm pretty sure you will find the lows for the 260Z 2+2 are non-trapping. datfreak Posted November 7, 2003 Author Share #19 Posted November 7, 2003 mine mite be sitting a bit higher cos both cars have the spare wheel out/back seat/ most of the interior out and very very little fuel.. it is the measurement from the middle of the hub(in the middle between the nuts) ( ) to the inside edge of the guard above it..(in the rear) wot do you mean by non-trapping??????? Murph Posted November 7, 2003 Share #20 Posted November 7, 2003 Yep that's the measurement. Non-trapping as in, when your suspension is fully extended, the spring is shorter than the distance between the plates that it sits between and can fall off onto the shoulder of the plate. *Used the word plate cos I have no idea what the correct term is.
