trs Posted December 17, 2003 Share #37 Posted December 17, 2003 i rang kmac the other day about their adjustable strut tops for Z cars and they said they didnt have any at the moment but can make them up within the week.cost: 380 for front pair. camber adjustment from 2 degrees to 4 degrees (although he sounded pretty unsure about this).this is for the polyurethane ones and they can also make spherical bearing top mounts for something like 290 bucks (although again, the bloke didnt sound like he knew what he was talking about)In any case, from what i have read and seen about the kmac strut tops.. they seem rather badly made and weak. I would rather spend a bit more and get a well made custom set.Wakefield: A friend timed one of my laps from the hill at 1:20 in a dead stock new corolla station wagon heheh. this was with a dodgy mobile phone stopwatch and unneccessary use of the handbrake on the last hairpin.. so I reckon 1:19's are a definite possibility. Now if i could only get the Z finished in time...My aim is to eventually get the 240z under 1:10. On a track like wakefield it focuses more on handling than power.. so hopefully I wont need a mega powerful engine. If an improved production 13b bridgeport rx7 can get 1:08 on slicks then there is hope for the Z yet! Brett240 Posted December 17, 2003 Share #38 Posted December 17, 2003 trs, you cant get adstable koni red's for 240z's as far as i know. i can use them becouse my struts have been shortened. i use shocks out of a VW golf.you right with k mak, he didnt kno what he was talking about. K mak had a presentation for the Sydeny z club a few months back. they cant make the strut tops for Z's becouse the tops are too small. they make up an adjustable lower link that needs to be welded in. im sure G260 can chime in here as he has an adjustable lower arm available from melbourne i think?
