Totalled my 280Z... pictures inside....

Recommended Posts

Happy to see your 78 back on the road. Sorry to hear it has a totaled title now.

Buy a box of cameras and put them in your glove box. That's what I do, plus a cheep used video camera. Call me stupid, nuts. I don't like problems.

Good deal, that's what you needed to do to know how they fixed it.

Sounds like you might have a great car to use for a GTO conversion? You could get rid of all the front sheet metal. KIT is only $4000.

Just remember to go to the mall to practice your drifting (winter driving techniques) in the empty part of the parking lot. My driver's Ed intructor learned me this. Drves chicks crazy.

Oh that last picture was before I took the two to the shop...

So yeh I ended up using the fender and headlihgt bucket from the 240Z.....

So that picture was BEFORE the damage is still on my 280Z but you can't see it from that distance.

Few more days, the car will be done :) and then that 240Z should be gone... (since I HAD sell it :()

My 2 cents....

As someone previously commented. The 240Z and even 260/280's are becoming 30+ yrs old. If you race your car on the track, or drive it every day, you increase the chance of having an "incident". I understand that the reason we own Z cars is to "drive" them. My concern rests with the fact that we are dealing with a finite resource, that is, donor or parts cars. There will come a time when we simply cannot source panels and parts for our beloved Zed's. The message is... look after your car as best you can, they are becoming more sacred every day.

I bought those speakers at Circuit City a long long time ago... about 2 years ago for about $400.

I had em in my Nissan Sentra and swapped em over to the 280Z. The box fits perfectly and very tight... got lucky.

they are 3 10" MTX subwoofers and a MTX amplifier. Inside (see my gallery) I have 4 4" Alpine speakers and a Kenwood headunit
