drunkenmaster Posted November 28, 2003 Share #1 Posted November 28, 2003 The throttle on my 280zx daily driver is sticking when i release it recently, enough to hold the car from 1500-2000rpm when idling. Pulling the pedal upwards with my toes or quickly tapping the pedal will release it.Honestly I havent had a good look at it yet, but as far as i can tell it could be one of 3 things:1. dirty throttle linkage joint somewhere between the pedal and the throttle body?2. Actual throttle butterfly sticking to throttle body resulting from dirt or warping?3. Linkage return spring on firewall not tight enough. Now the spring was the easiest to check so i looked and while it doesnt pull the linkage back hard to full extension, it still seems to be doing the job, anyone solved this problem before as your advice is appreciated, spending time on this car really annoys me as it takes time away from my 260Z.
