Can I remove this

this apprears to go nowhere and never seen this on any of my other 240zs , and I am not required to pass smog, does anyone what it is and what does it do and can I remove without any adverse results, it located on the passenger side of my 72 240 on the fender it apprears to be a vapor tank of some sort, thanks Jeff

its has the 3 hoses up to that go to the from of the motor but attach to nothing , I am gonna double check that now but it has 2 wires attached to the bottom of it

Kind of looks like a pump of some kind. You will have to see where the tubes & wires go to.

the tube go to the front of the engine bay and just end like they are venting there and the 2 wires go into the wiring harness

Kinda looks like a carbon canister to me. It would be connected to the top of the fuel tank, ported vacuum & the inlet manifold.

Two wires at the bottom and tubes that go to the front of the car and go to nothing.

My guess, Air Horn Pump.

Maybe put 12v to it and see what it does?

My guess also. The lines look like surgical tubing and that will not hold up to fuel.

Hi -- while I have never replied on here before -- here is my guess

Looks like the pump part of air horns -- which were previously removed

let us all know.
