Zedrally Posted December 22, 2003 Share #4 Posted December 22, 2003 Mustang maybe, on a L6 doubtful, or are you considering changing engines, in which case you may be better asking this question on hybribz? motoracertx Posted December 22, 2003 Author Share #5 Posted December 22, 2003 no, not changing engines out. Staying with the L6. This Z i am going is a 73 240. I have had several and done them each different. I just saw i believe was a Jacobs system once, it just looked interesting. I have a complete turbo motor and all the goodies from a 1983 to put into the car. Just was looking at different options. Zedrally Posted December 22, 2003 Share #6 Posted December 22, 2003 hhhh, the only person I know that ran a turbo with a webber kept on melting pistons. I guess that's why turbo & FI go hand in hand now-a-days.Good luck with your project. ZmeFly Posted December 22, 2003 Share #7 Posted December 22, 2003 When you can pick up a complete turbo motor and all the necessities for pretty cheap at a pick and pull.Just would seem to make better sense. 1975yellowBSPZ Posted December 22, 2003 Share #8 Posted December 22, 2003 One thing I would look at on any single carb system for the L series or any inline 6 in the intake runner length. A lot of these manifolds have unequal length runners - IE shorter in the middle and longer on the ends. This will lean out the 1 and 6 and make 3 and 4 run rich. Not a good solution for a boosted engine. I personally would stay away from that type of arrangement, it lacks the neccessary tuning to compensate for the design. I do seem to remember a turbo tom? setup that was similar to what you are asking about.IMO The factory turbo setup in much better designed and easily availiable.
