Alfadog Posted January 12, 2004 Share #13 Posted January 12, 2004 Like Alan said, its probably worth picking them up even if they dont fit your car, if they're in good nick! v12horse Posted January 12, 2004 Share #14 Posted January 12, 2004 More and more people are getting Watanabe's for their cars. I love it. Hey Alfa, how is your GTR replica coming along? If I remember correctly, you have the Watanabe's for the front, but not the rear. You will have to post pics of her. Nice find kytyler. I hope it works out well for you. Take care everyone,Ben Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/9680-watanabe-price-opinions/?page=2#findComment-63924 Share on other sites
Ben Posted January 13, 2004 Share #15 Posted January 13, 2004 When I have a spare $3500AUD burning a hole in my pocket, I'll buy some nice new Watanabes for either the Z or my Skyline....Until then, the Superlites will have to do:cry: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/9680-watanabe-price-opinions/?page=2#findComment-63964 Share on other sites
v12horse Posted January 13, 2004 Share #16 Posted January 13, 2004 Invert the sad face Ben. Your car is nothing but beautiful and the superlites look great too.:classic: Here in the states I have never seen or heard of superlites. Where abouts are they made? kyteler Posted January 13, 2004 Author Share #17 Posted January 13, 2004 Performance Wheels An Aussie company.I was considering a set of 15x7 Super-lites but when they change to 15's from 14's the also change from 8spoke to 10spoke and I much prefer the 8's Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/9680-watanabe-price-opinions/?page=2#findComment-63967 Share on other sites
Alfadog Posted January 13, 2004 Share #18 Posted January 13, 2004 Hi Ben, I have now found (and purchased) a pair of 14x9 RS-8's for the rear! They're still in Japan though, waiting to be shipped. I'm just looking for 4 more Watanabe nuts (I have 8 and 4 lock-nuts already) and then it'll all be shipped over together. Then, for the painting and fitment of the flares, the rear wheels re-painted to look like the fronts, new suspension, rubber for the rims and then it's ready! If I have enough money to get there... Alfadog Posted January 13, 2004 Share #20 Posted January 13, 2004 Shhh! If it looks intimidating, that's enough for me! At the moment anyway... :stupid: I plan on swapping to manual, and putting an exhaust on. That's all until I get a job. kyteler Posted January 13, 2004 Author Share #21 Posted January 13, 2004 Yeah manual is defiantely the first step in ANY upgrade, I'm still waiting on all the bits and pieces and then I have to try and sell the box I got so I can buy the proper length one. Which from a wreckers will cost me $500NZD. But I'm still looking around. You'll just have to remember not to actually take anyone on should you get the urge driving in your replica KPGC110 2000GT-R. Alfadog Posted January 13, 2004 Share #22 Posted January 13, 2004 Quite! I will be like one of those high-class highway racers in Japan, who never take up any challenge because they're superior! And they'll all go OOOOOoooo he must be fast. Yes. That's what I will be. Does anyone (Alan) know what the widest rim that was factory fitted to a S30, be it 240 or 432 with flares?WA law states that you can only go 1 inch wider that factory fitted, up to 8 inches. Or if it was fitted with 8 inch or wider you cant go any wider than that.So for example, if the ZG432R was available with 9 inch rims as a factory option, theoretically I should be allowed cut out my guards, fit flares, and put 9 inch rims on my car.So how wide did Nissan go? v12horse Posted January 13, 2004 Share #24 Posted January 13, 2004 That sounds pretty awesome Alfa. 14 X 9's, that is some wide Wat's. What size are you putting up front? Some one told me tht you have to have the Watanabe lugnuts in order for the wheels to fit. From what you said it sounds true. Is it? Your car is going to look great. I can't wait to see pics.Ben Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/9680-watanabe-price-opinions/?page=2#findComment-64022 Share on other sites
