Read up on the 'Goertz myth', it's a fairly interesting story. Look for it on http://zhome.com. PrOxLaMuS© Posted January 16, 2004 Author Share #16 Posted January 16, 2004 datto_240z SWEET photoshop! Damn i tried and tried using MS paint.. .. and they came out looking like crap! Beautiful work! I like the way they look on my car.. I am gonna try polighing them up see how they look, then otherwise.. paint em. But my car is still in the shop unfortuantly. It's ALL painted and pretty and fixed up again, I just need side markers and the front bumper. I bought a front bumper from eBay and it should be in the mail today.. Friday.... But I doo need a passenger bumper end cap the rubber one.. for a '77-'78 280Z... anyone have one??? peterc Posted January 16, 2004 Share #17 Posted January 16, 2004 Stephan; Awesome wheels:love: How did you polish them? I have a set on my '83 ZX and I would sure love them to look like yours. Cheers, Peter Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/9719-opinions-wanted-iron-cross-style-wheels/?page=2#findComment-64637 Share on other sites
kyteler Posted January 16, 2004 Share #18 Posted January 16, 2004 I think the ZX wheels add a chunky squaredness that screws with the smooth flowing lines of the earlier Z, If you were to paint black or gunmetal inbetween the spokes your current wheels I think you'd achieve a much nicer look without disturbing the round curves of the car, being the current wheels have a nice curved flow to the spokes. But as I said at the start of the post, up to you. Oh and your current wheels look to have a nice dish to them even if it's partially a visual illusion due to the curvature of the spokes the flatness of the Iron Cross wheels just doesn't compare to a nice dish. sahunt66 Posted January 16, 2004 Share #19 Posted January 16, 2004 IMHO the wheels are fine but I don't think they look great on the 240Z; too modern. But hey, what do I know? My Z has hubcaps.:cross-eye Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/9719-opinions-wanted-iron-cross-style-wheels/?page=2#findComment-64642 Share on other sites

I figured it doesn't matter who does it as long as it's done right? So here you go, I took the liberty of lowering her a little as well, I hope that's OK. I also put on a larger diameter wheel than your current ones. I don't think you'll mind though Enjoy. I didn't take my time with the lowering so there's a few glitches to the total image that you'll spot without too much problem I'm guessing. But the desired afect is achieved in any case. Victor Laury Posted January 16, 2004 Share #21 Posted January 16, 2004 As far as the H130 wheels go, I think the 6 point stars look the best. Followed by the "Swastica" 280ZX Turbo wheels, then the Iron Crosses. My own opinion.I DO believe you MUST use special lugs on all these wheels, as the holes are bigger than the 5 slot mags. Please correct me if I'm wrong Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/9719-opinions-wanted-iron-cross-style-wheels/?page=2#findComment-64652 Share on other sites
