I bet the finance company wasn't impressed. They got back a half bastardised 350z that they wouldn't get half the sticker price for.

Would have made more sence to put twin turbos in the 3.5 V6

than to reduce the engine to almost 1 liter less and try and make up for it by increasing the boost.

What a weird child(and im only 15:stupid:)! He knows a 'KID' with a RB26 fitted 350Z...

And what the hell is"Batlground performance"? He must think that because we're in the"CLASSIC z club" that we are in on all of the new jap racer/ricer boy scene! Its like he's assuming that we know this "Batlground performance" mob. And he mustn't of seen Cuongs car yet:stupid:! And just coz a "350Z" has an RB26 in it, it doesn't mean its going to go out and "RAPE" other people.

And if it were done... WTF?

Like I said before, What a weird child!

I wonder if he's going to reply to the post... Or if he's too scared! ROFL

Cheer'z' :bunny:

Mr Camouflage has it right. Waste of time and money putting a RB26DETT into a 350Z. When you consider all the custom work you are going to have to do with intercoolers and exhaust plus the likes, better to spend it on modifying a twin turbo set up for the 3.5L engine.

Really if you want to do it properly you would go after market on everything except the engine when you did the swap. Start with a bigger engine with less miles and you have to be in front.

Now putting a 350Z engine into a 240Z with turbos and the works. I would like to see that.

I beleive that very few from this club really know what the RB26DETT is capable of in any car, Couong is 1 of them. He is also 1 of very few that actually appreciate the time & effort that others put in their pride & joy as opposed to putting S**T on just about every modified Z that appears here.

Maybe alot of the members here would have greatly appreciated it if this guy with the 350Z had stuck a L6 in it.

No one ever said anything bad against the RB engine itself, only against putting it in a 350.

First of all, I doubt it would even fit considering the amount of room one takes up and the fabrication required to get it under the hood of a an S30 car. After seeing how cramped the V-6 is under the hood of the 350, I don't see how a tall engine like the RB would fit under the hood. Those 350's don't have a lot of room to spare with the V-6 in there, and that is a pretty compact engine in itself.

Second, it sounds like whoever was attempting the swap didn't think it out too clearly as to the amount of work and money it was going to take. And it sure isn't going to whup up on anyone's car after it was repo'd, possibly in pieces.....:cross-eye

It's been done a few times in Japan, click on Coung's pic for 1 example, & I was mearly stating that alot of members get upset when they see a modified Z (not that they complained about the engine) & voice their negative opinion. It seems that this guy has run out of money but come on guy's, don't rub it in.

Is that all people think about, theres no replacement for displacement...foooowweee, thats bull, i would much rather have the rb26dett than the vq35de(i think thats right) they rev higher, have a better balance, I-6's generally run smoother, plus it has MORE power. its just like when they complain about people puttin an sr in a 240z, your losing 2 cylinders, but big deal you gained 40-50 hp if you put a stock redtop in.,

sorry for the rant, and im not meaning to really flame anyone in general, but some people have different taste than others, i want a z with an rb, and i want a z with a l24 that barely idles..:) but some people might like an rb better, some might like the vq, better, but either way respect people for all the work put into a car

and i dont even know why i did this, this is some 8 year old sayin ghis friend knows a person with an RB 350z, i say hes liying but oh well....RANT rant rant..

id have to disagree with that one, V engines are definitly more stable than an inline 6.

lets not forget the the RB26 is based off design that dates back to the early 80's, while the VQ engine is a recent design that makes close to the same power (with no turbo's) as an RB26 STOCK.

It also has behind it all those years of development in things like combustion chamber efficiancy, balance, friction and so on.

the VQ has alot of years of development still in it and wil doubtless be a far superior engine to the now outdated RB.
