I comment on BaT listings as "DatsunZGuy" and have occasionally had my post go "Under Review". The post below I made back in December took over a day to show up in the auction thread. I assume "road grime" is a trigger word in BaT's algorithm 🤔

Moving over to a euro-style balance tube and removing the air gallery would tidy up the engine bay.

It's probably better than an original lamp considering those have been exposed to UV and exhaust fumes for over half a century.

My first impression is the car is running rich. Furthermore, these older vehicles do not burn modern fuels as efficiently. Just go to a local cars and coffee and take a deep breath as all the older cars leave the event and you'll know what I'm talking about 😉

All that hype in the BaT comments and it didn't even get near six-digit territory. For about that same amount of money I'd rather have a C-7 Z06 LZ3 convertible. Similar horsepower and you get a heater, A/C, audio system and a functional convertible top.

I suggest going on Bring a Trailer and look at some past auctions of top tier 240Zs. Many descriptions will call out the shop commissioned to do the restoration.

It's a very nice looking restoration. However, I hope the new owner will go the extra mile and source the correct original style bumpers with bumperettes to put the cherry on top of this example.
