So Ive been looking for a while and found this project Z on craigslist. Guy has already thrown in the SR20det, motor mounts from McKinney. Came with Greddy turbo timer and boost controller. He already has the front mount and the fans mounted up. Comes with a pretty beefy sway bar, but i need to buy some bushings for it. I guess he hadn't started on wiring yet, so that needs to be done. I also need to mock up an exhaust for this thing. He had some 3" tubing laying around that he bought for this project, so he gave me that too.

Here are some pics from yesterday when I picked it up.

I am gonna start a progress thread. I know everyone likes those. But my question for you guys is this. What would you guys tackle first? I want to have a system here, i dont want to start a whole bunch of little projects only to lag on them all. I like to finish little jobs, that way i get done quicker i find.

So what would you guys start on first? Wiring? It seems to be the biggest hurdle at the moment IMO. I really want to get gauges installed and powdered. But you guys know more than I, so thats why I ask. Im kinda new to this.

I'm sure you can find lots of useful info here, however based on your choice of engine, you may have more luck on engine swap and related ignition and eletrical sytems over here:

I find it interesting the we send them to Hybrid based on engine swaps but Hybrid sends them here because Hybrid doesn't have the much patience when it comes to answering things they've already covered......

Stephen, i think we can split it up in stock and non stock answers, i like this forum because it suits me and my build.

I see CZCC as a forum for people wanting to keep it stock or for minor bolt on upgrades, cutting, swapping and such, people will be better of at hybridsz.

And yes, lots of more patience here.

Good point Stephen. You can obviously find more info over there on the swap, hence the reason I referred him, but you're right; if you don't use the search feature and ask intelligent questions on yet to be covered topics, it's possible you'll receive a less than a friendly response. I think things are generally a little friendlier over here due partly to the average age and maturity of the members, but this is not always the case.......

.

As far as what to start on first, I would start with the part you are most comfortable doing and ease into the rest. Or start with the part that keeps nagging at you when you think about the car.

In either case it is really easy to lose heart and quit. Try to FINISH part of the rebuild before you take on too many other items. That way you can mentally keep track of the successes and not just a lot of unfinished business.
